Public sector Project management

The public sector is the collective name for all government services and parastatals including municipalities, cities, provinces, police, ... The tasks and services of public authorities are very broad and are often characterized by extremely hierarchical structures. Due to the amount of buy-in required to implement changes, innovation projects take off much more slowly.

Despite the direct link with the government and the bureaucratic character of the public sector, digitization and innovation projects are also pressing there. The big challenge is to direct  team spirit and motivation towards the same goal and to be ready to accept any kind of innovation.

MAPP specializes in project management for public administrations and provides tools and techniques to complete projects more successfully within a strictly hierarchical structure:

Project management step-by-step plan

  • Project cycle: different project phases from start to stop
  • Time- and activity management: deadlines, requirements, available resources, and maintenance of daily overview
  • Project planning: who does what, when and why
  • Risk analysis: laying out the risks and learning to manage them
  • Objectives: defining the success factors

Project guidance and project teams

  • Operational plan: converting project plan into understandable tasks
  • Project teams: assembling, managing, and motivating colleagues
  • Execution of the tasks: plan – do – check – act

Project results and evaluation

  • Milestones: measuring and evaluating performance
  • Communication: effective consultation and feedback results
